Overview

Shoalhaven City Council are seeking an experienced Return to Work Officer to join the Workplace Health & Safety team, based in Nowra, for a term of 6 months with potential to extend.

Your New Role

Reporting directly to the Workers Compensation Coordinator, the focus of this position is to:

  • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of efficient and effective Return to Work practices across Council’s activities.
  • To assist injured staff and their management with the view of obtaining suitable employment or return to full-time pre-injury duties in compliance with Regulator requirements.
  • Develop, implement and review Return to Work policies, procedures, guidelines and tools in accordance with current legislation and best practice.

About You

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Cert IV in Workplace Health & Safety, Workers Compensation or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Workers Compensation and understanding of injury management and rehabilitation
  • Proven capacity to consult effectively on challenging return to work situations
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Return to Work Coordinator Certificate
