About the Role...

Reporting to the Manager - Operations, the Security Coordinator is responsible for the security and safety for staff, visitors and volunteers at the City of Playford Council buildings and facilities. They will manage the provision and development of the City of Playford’s Security Services, for the protection of the staff and property assets, and for the operation of the multi-deck parking facilities. In addition, they will contribute to the Council’s emergency management plan for the Civic Centre/CBD and manage the initial on-site response to emergency incidents to ensure business continuity. The role will:

  • Develop and implement plans and strategies to satisfy stakeholder requirements relating to security, mitigate risk, create efficiencies, and reduce costs and position the Council to cope with future demands and expectations;
  • Manage the security and car park contracts to ensure KPIs are being set, measured and reported, contract meetings are held and contract terms are being either met or exceeded;
  • Manage the security of the multi-deck car park with the aim of maximising revenue, safeguarding the welfare of staff and users; and
  • Manage the day to day systems and processes for security and car park, keys, locks, access control, CCTV, alarms, car park management, investigations, event management arrangements.

About You

The successful candidate will possess a Security Officer Licence and Senior First Aid Certificate and at least three years in a similar role. In addition, they will possess:

  • Specialised knowledge and experience in the operational aspects of security, security systems and parking enforcement and the development and implementation of strategies and policies relating to these areas.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the security response to large and complex emergency incidents involving emergency services and senior management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change in the fields of security, security systems, parking and emergency management to develop a more efficient and productive workforce.
  • Proficiency and expertise in the area of customer focus to ensure services delivered meet client needs and expectations.
