The Senior Economist will support the strategic development of the Victorian Energy Upgrades program through research and analysis of targets and design options for delivering incentives through the market-based mechanism.

This role will involve reviewing the scale of opportunity for residential, commercial and industrial energy efficiency under Victorian Energy Upgrades, examining how the program can drive investment and support innovation through market-based mechanisms, undertaking cost benefit analyses of options, and supporting decision-makers in determining the direction and design of the program.

The successful applicant will understand economic policy, the role of government and the role of market-based instruments; have strong research and analysis capabilities; and have good stakeholder collaboration skills. The role requires organisational and project management skills, effective relationship building across government agencies and attention to detail.

If you have demonstrated experience undertaking cost benefit analysis of policies, programs or regulations, and a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, you are strongly encouraged to apply.

This is a fixed term for a period of 12 months.
