This position will undertake a lead role in the coordination and delivery of the Glenelg Ark Project, a landscape scale fox suppression program. Glenelg Ark commenced in 2005 with an aim to facilitate the recovery of small and medium sized mammals at risk from predation by foxes in the south west in Victoria by undertaking broad-scale and continuous fox baiting. The position will take a key role in delivering DELWP's responsibilities in managing pest animals and weeds on public land, with emphasis on adaptive pest animal control and continuing the wildlife monitoring and evaluation program to measure the impacts of the project on both foxes and wildlife recovery.    

The successful candidate will engage in creative planning and delivery of community engagement for Glenelg Ark to foster greater awareness of the Project's outcomes and goals in the local community. They will have demonstrable experience in managing pest and weed projects and knowledge of legal and technical aspects of pest and weed control, as well as an appropriate qualification in science, natural resource management or approved equivalent (desirable).

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2019.
