An excellent opportunity currently exists for a highly skilled and effective individual to join the organisation in the role of Manager Property & Procurement Services.  Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, this position will provide leadership and management across the property and procurement functions driving continuous improvement and the effective development and support of staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop asset management strategies and operational plans for the ongoing development, delivery and evaluation of Institute building and facilities requirements. 
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders in the development of the Institute Facilities Master plan ensuring alignment with the Institute’s five to ten year strategic plan.
  • Oversee and manage major capital expenditure projects and contract management in relation to minor works, facilities and maintenance contracts.
  • Develop effective and efficient procurement strategies and operational plans
  • Manage the procurement activities of the Institute ensuring organisational awareness and adherence to relevant tendering and procurement processes.
  • Oversee the Central Stores operations in order to ensure effective and efficient processes for stock management, procurement and distribution of stock.
  • Develop and manage the Institute’s retail outlets.
  • Develop and maintain an Environmental Sustainability action plan for the Institute in conjunction with other stakeholders.
  • Plan, implement and monitor financial budgets to ensure that revenue, expenditure and capital investment is within forecast/approved budgets.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree or post graduate qualification in a business discipline and significant experience in a property and procurement management role
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the planning and implementation of property projects/change initiatives and to drive continuous improvement and innovation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the day to day management of all building operations and maintenance contracts and works to ensure a high level of service delivery
  • Strong experienced across tendering and contract management practices
  • Solid leadership and people management skills with an ability to manage diverse teams in a positive and supportive manner
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills with good knowledge of relevant systems
  • Highly effective stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated customer service focus and ability to build trust, engage and influence
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed technical reports, submissions and proposals
  • Demonstrated behaviours that align with the William Angliss Institute Values
