The position:

As the CSIRO Business and Infrastructure Services (CBIS) Property Coordinator you will be closely involved with the day-to-day coordination of multiple services contracts and leases/licenses across CSIRO’s Western Australian sites. This includes ‘hard’ building and engineering repairs and maintenance related services and ‘soft’ facilities management services of cleaning, waste management, security and grounds maintenance.

In particular, you will be responsible for the on-site supervision of contractors ensuring that the service delivery is in accordance with the contract conditions and specifications. You will also administer leases and licenses across CSIRO’s WA sites and deliver budgets, cash flows and the recovery of outgoings. Along with other members of the CBIS Team, you will have responsibility for minor works projects within the region as well as the coordination and delivery of environmental initiatives.

The role will involve out-of-hours and call-out responsibilities covering all sites within WA, and will require the physical ability to access all locations in the Region, including sites in regional areas.

Specifically you will:

Provide assistance in tendering, evaluation and implementation of contracts for ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ services.

Assist in the oversight of contracts and actively participate in regular contractor meetings, ensuring compliance with CSIRO policies and procedures.

Maintain effective day-to-day relationships with all site occupants in respect of the provision of property services.

Assist in the development of minor works proposals for new research initiatives and participate in planning for site alterations and minor works.

Prepare information for budgeting and reporting, review service budgets, monitor cash flows and process invoices.

Ensure the implementation of a safe working environment.

Actively participate and assist in tenancy and leasing/licensing matters.

Assist the Regional Fleet Coordinator in fleet management duties.

Location: Kensington (Perth) Western Australia
Salary: AU$80k to AU$91k per annum, plus up to 15.4% superannuation

As a minimum requirement, you will hold relevant qualifications in property or facilities management and/or have relevant work experience in managing commercial or industrial properties. You will also have:

Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence (or equivalent).

The ability and willingness to undertake occasional travel to remote sites in WA.

Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.

The ability to solve complex problems and the flexibility to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.

Knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of facility and property management.

Proven experience in the identification, implementation, validation and monitoring of environmental initiatives.

The ability to manage and supervise service Contractors to ensure successful delivery of building services.

An understanding of relevant building procedures/protocols, compliance and regulatory requirements and HSE requirements applicable to personnel operations, safety and security
