Salary - $1,304.10 - $1,494.40pw + super + leaseback vehicle

Building Capacity to Deliver - Servicing Community Needs

This position will require you to manage and regulate policies/legislation in order to protect and enhance the environment of Camden and the health and safety of its community.

Be a part of shaping new places and building new communities. 

Essential:

  • Relevant Council Law Enforcement Officer training such as Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) for Law Enforcement Officers or similar
  • A sound working knowledge and experience in the application and administration of current Acts and associated Regulations as they relate to Rangers Services
    • Biosecurity Act 2015
    • Companion Animals Act
    • Local Government Act
    • Impounding Act
    • Roads Act and Road Rules
    • Protection of the Environment Operations Act
    • All other relevant legislation and guidelines/policies currently in use by local government Rangers
  • Demonstration of legal and court experience as it relates to Ranger duties
  • Demonstrated experience in handling companion animals.
  • Sound organisation and time management skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) and skilled in conflict resolution
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to operate computer systems and database systems
  • Understanding and commitment to WHS and EEO principles

Desirable:

  • Ability to manage and handle livestock
  • Possess knowledge of noxious weeds that affect the Camden LGA and the applicable control techniques
  • Possess a broad understanding of environment and health issues as they pertain to local government with strong desire to educate others
