The Respiratory Outpatient Department at Prince of Wales Hospital provides a TB assessment screening and treatment service, bronchoscopy, EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) and management of IgE antibody therapy. The CNS2 is a senior nurse in this department working closely with the respiratory consultants in the management of patient care. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, closed public holidays.
This position is currently available until July 2019 whilst the permanent incumbent is on extended leave.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) Respiratory Outpatients Department is an experienced Registered Nurse who functions with an extended autonomy of clinical decision making within the TB and respiratory medicine specialty. The CNS2 works within a multidisciplinary team providing screening and comprehensive assessment, and facilitating appropriate fast track to diagnostics, assessment and treatment.
1. Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
2. Relevant Post graduate qualifications in respiratory nursing and at least 3 years recent experience working in respiratory and TB nursing.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues and problem solve through the development and use of clinical management plans
4. Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making while working as part of a multidisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
5. Demonstrated skills in the development & facilitation of patient and carer education and staff as required
6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
7. Detailed knowledge and understanding of harm minimisation and evidence of leadership in safety and quality innovation.
8. Demonstrated competence in the use of health-related information technology.
