The opportunity

City West Water recently signed an agreement with Western Water to provide a supporting role in the development and ongoing maintenance of Western Water’s corporate GIS, a collaboration opportunity that benefits both organisations.

The role reports to the Asset Information Team Leader (at City West Water) and supports the execution of the City West Water / Western Water Data Services Agreement, providing GIS services to Western Water as outlined in the Statement of Work stipulated in the agreement.

The position forms part of the Asset Information team and will actively assist in the capture and improvement of Western Water’s GIS platform. Western Water’s corporate GIS is fundamental in the delivery of spatial data for their business users and has environmental, social and financial implications for both their internal and external customers and users. The position is oriented towards high achievement and high performance delivering GIS data for Western Water’s GIS users.

 

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Experience in GIS, surveying and/or field auditing
  • Advanced knowledge in the processing and inputting of water industry related assets together with knowledge of drafting standards, AutoCAD and GIS systems
  • Strong eye for detail with a proven understanding of processes to ensure correct data capture
  • Understanding of quality systems and processes
  • Customer first mentality
  • Willingness to learn and thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Hold a geospatial sciences qualifications from an accredited Australian University or TAFE

Whilst not essential, experience with Enlighten, Munsys, Autocad, Civil 3D and FME applications will be looked at favourably as will experience within the water industry.
