Public Works Advisory (PWA) is a business unit of the Property and Advisory Group, a division of the Department of Finance, Services and Innovation.  Public Works Advisory provides a broad range of infrastructure advisory, procurement, project management and engineering services across NSW, assisting local and state government clients to plan, develop, deliver, manage, operate and maintain critical infrastructure.

 

PWA is seeking an experienced, senior engineer to provide specialised geotechnical engineering services and advice to clients and senior management, to ensure the consistent delivery of quality project outcomes.

 

In this role you will work within a project based team environment across numerous disciplines.  You will demonstrate strong experience in creating and maintaining effective working relationships with clients.  You will be expected to be committed to continuous improvement principles to deliver increased market efficiencies for both the government and its customers.

 

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated extensive experience as a geotechnical engineer, including but not limited to:

·        the preparation of clear, concise reports for external and internal clients;

·        reporting on soil testing and classification;

·        interpreting, developing and advising on sub-surface geotechnical models facilitating infrastructure design;

·        recommending foundation and earthworks design parameters; and

·        earthworks stability assessments including coastal and riverbank environments.

 

Site investigations supervision experience would be highly regarded.

 

You will have demonstrated experience in the delivery of advisory services and projects in this field, for multiple clients.  You will possess a collaborative and flexible work style.

 

To be considered for this position it is essential that you hold an appropriate engineering degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or in an allied professional engineering field, have eligibility for membership of relevant professional associations and hold a valid NSW driver’s licence.

Salary: Salary package up to $128,760. Package includes a base salary ($105,409 – $116,157) and employer’s contribution to superannuation.
