The Role:
This position is with a government corporation which has a diverse range of projects running across Sydney. They require an experienced Environmental Consultant to support Project Managers by providing environmental leadership and advise in accordance with Environmental Management Systems and Delivery Management’s procedures.
 
The role will work closely with Project Managers and requires someone with prior experience in the water sector who is degree qualified and has a full driving licence. The position is paying a very competitive hourly rate for the right candidate.
  
Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and endorsing Delivery Contractors Environmental Work Method Statements (EWMS) and Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP) to ensure they deliver projects in accordance with the project’s Environmental Planning Approval (eg REF), contractual conditions and Delivery Management’s expectations.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant environmental legislation.
• Carrying out Compliance Inspections to monitor the performance of Delivery Contractors.
• Reviewing Environmental Planning Approval documentation (eg REF) to assess the impact of any project scope and/or methodology changes.
• Completing project risk assessments to determine the appropriate level of environmental support and monitoring necessary for any given project.
• Facilitating and contributing to training programs.
• Compiling reports and putting together environmental documentation.
• Liaising with senior managers on all environmental related issues

As The Successful Candidate You Will Have:

• A degree or other relevant tertiary qualification.
• Prior experience working in the water sector.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
• A current NSW driver's licence and White Card.
• Excellent people and communication skills.
• A positive attitude and a good work ethic.
• Proficient computer skills.
