Your contribution:  As Chief Information Officer you will provide senior level support, advice, information and guidance to the General Manager, Corporate Services and other executive level officers on strategic information technology, business transformation and other key issues impacting on Information and communications technology (ICT) service delivery and operations. You will:

  • lead a team in relation to setting priorities and direction, allocating resources, staff development and performance management and the delivery of a high-quality, client-focussed service
  • ensure stringent contract management is applied across all vendor arrangements for key performance indicators, budget and service level agreement tolerance assurance to ensure the availability and performance of systems is maintained to satisfy high service level requirements
  • work within ICT and across the department to identify risks (including cybersecurity) and emerging infrastructure issues and manage these through improved operating models
  • lead and coordinate the operations of the business systems and infrastructure and security functions to deliver on departmental ICT priorities and emerging business needs
  • drive improvement initiatives aimed at maximising the capacity of the business systems and infrastructure and security functions to deliver expert advice and quality services to clients
  • lead the implementation of and compliance with QGCIO Policy Frameworks, including ISO 27001 – Information Security Management System, and Information Security Classification to champion integrated information governance in support of the overall business strategy
  • identify business development opportunities for ICT in the department and associated agencies and lead project negotiations in a competitive environment
  • facilitate and build strong effective relationships within the department, across government, and with other stakeholders to align functions and advance the role, impact and value of ICT
  • represent ICT and/or the department in government and industry forums.
