About the role
Holcim is recruiting for a Planning annd Environment Manager based in Chatswood, the successful candidate will be accountable for managing the planning and approval portfolio mainly for our aggregates and ready-mix concretes business.
- Providing strategic, risk based, advice to the business and functional teams, supporting short and long term business plans
- Establishing and leading project teams including coordinating consultants and liaising with senior government agencies across the three tiers of government to efficiently deliver approvals in a timely manner
- Coordinating stakeholder consultation with the community, indigenous groups & agencies
- Supporting the National Team delivering national and global initiatives and programs
The state environmental team will support you in the management of Holcim’s environmental responsibilities
- Providing strategic advice and support to the business to ensure effective management of environmental compliance, reporting and risk matters,
- Managing the implementation and review of environmental audits, standards, procedures and practices.
About you
You have a sharp intellect tempered by an engaging and empathic communication style. This allows you to proactively develop and implement project strategies; as well as provide solutions while appreciating the commercial implications.
Day to day you can rapidly adapt to change and can prioritise a large and diverse workload, to successfully manage projects and become to the best partner to the business. You can review volumes of legal & technical information and cut through it to form strategic advice & action plans to direct the business.
- Tertiary qualified in an Urban/Town Planning or Environmental Science discipline
- Excellent Project Management experience which lead to innovative solutions for success
- Experience working in the mining, materials, energy, transport or utilities industry
- Solid understanding of planning and environmental regulations & approval processes
- Excellent communication, relationship building and conflict resolution skills; being able to educate parties in a foreign subject and influence internal stakeholders.
