This Commonwealth Government Department is currently seeking an APS 6 level contractor to join their Program Governance team on an initial 6 month contract in Canberra.

The previous experience you have gained in positions relating to risk management, project management methodologies and governance will allow you to hit the ground running in this position.

Key responsibilities in this position include:
  • Reporting to the Assistant Director and Director, Program Governance, Risk and Performance section, you will provide assistance in the implementation of governance and risk management initiatives and in encouraging and sustaining an organisational culture that supports high performance.
  • Develop, implement and maintain relevant governance and risk management documents and registers, and coordinate feedback from program directors and other key stakeholders on content and issues.
  • Support the evaluation of unacceptable conduct claims and administration of outcomes.
  • Provide high-level secretariat support Committees. This includes preparation of the agendas, minutes and action logs, and the tracking and monitoring of decisions.
  • Maintain high-level knowledge and understanding of the key activities and responsibilities of the program work areas.
  • Monitor and review external audit reports and third-party health checks.The 
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following skills and/or experiences:
  • Skills in providing governance support for program and/or project forums
  • Experience in managing meeting arrangements, preparation of agendas, papers, minutes and the tracking and monitoring of decisions and action items
  • Ability to plan and prioritise to meet deadlines and achieve objectives
  • Well-developed communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to gain understanding of complex loan program requirements in a short time
  • Ability to interrogate evidence and draft detailed minutes
