The opportunity 
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Surveillance Officer to join the Technical and Project Services division at Roads & Maritime Service. In this role you will be managing and facilitating surveillance activities on a range of complex contract works. You will also assist in the administration of road or bridge construction works to ensure delivery in accordance with client time, quality and scope requirements.

As the Senior Surveillance Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking and managing surveillance on a broad range of larger, more complex and/ or higher risk projects/ contracts to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the Quality System, contract documents and client requirements.
  • Assessing Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and Traffic Control Plans (TCP) and check implementation on site to enable the safe passage of vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians through the works site.
  • Coordinating site activity between contractors, public utility authorities and direct control forces and manage conflict that may arise on site between the parties to support effective site operations and management.

We are looking for someone who has extensive experience in contract administration for road or bridge works and strong knowledge of safety and environmental issues and quality issues relating to the construction and maintenance of road and bridge works.

Remuneration Package: RMS USS Grade 8 ($97,179 - $104,282), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
