The NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation (DFSI) is looking for a proactive relationship-builder who will provide input to the security strategy, methodology and development of all GovDC operational streams.

About the NSW Department of Finance, Services & Innovation (DFSI)

DFSI is a service provider and regulator. We support sustainable government finances, major public works and maintenance programs, government procurement, information and communications technology, corporate and shared services, consumer protection, administration of State taxation and revenue collection, and NSW land and property administration.

Sitting within the Information & Digital Government division, Government Technology Platforms (GTP) provides sector-wide leadership and delivery of ICT infrastructure and service delivery reforms aligned to the NSW Government Digital Strategy.

About the Role

GTP partners with NSW Government agencies in the adoption and use of digital technologies and capabilities. We develop and support digital applications, design, build and operate state-wide identity and network services, and manage and operate data centre hosting and cloud connectivity services.

As Operations and Security Manager, you will facilitate strong working relationships with key stakeholders to support collaboration, the exchange of information and issues management to build on existing relationships and influence outcomes.

You will supervise in house technical design and re-design activities and manage the implementation in partnership with a diverse group of stakeholders. Part of your role will entail maintaining current documentation and architecture detail across a very complex, telecommunications-grade carrier backbone. 

One of the key challenges for the Operations and Security Manager is to influence a range of stakeholders so that service delivery meets their business objectives. You will also need to keep up to date with the range, pace and complexity of changes in technology required to deliver a timely quality service solution.

About You

You have a passion for connecting technology solutions to real business outcomes for your government customers. You are someone who can easily work with a wide variety of stakeholders and enjoy building long-term productive relationships.

With this in mind, you are a proactive empowered person, who enjoys working in a small dynamic team in a flexible office environment. You?re a technical problem-solver who can bring different ideas to the table. You are able to communicate with ease to influence both technical and business-oriented people. 

Having a good understanding of data centre technology, cloud solutions and the operational complexities of each will give you the necessary credibility to work with your team and your stakeholders across the public sector and industry. To really thrive in this role, you are outcome focused and have a strong customer-oriented mind set. It?s also really important that you like to have fun at work!

Salary

Grade 11/12 maximum salary package up to $156,294 package (including salary $121,917 - $140,996 and employer?s contribution to superannuation), commensurate with skills and experience.
