We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Design Specialist to be a part of our Project management team within Transport for NSW. This role plays a key part in setting the strategic direction and guiding an extended network of public and private service delivery agencies to deliver improved Transport outcomes. This role reports to the Manager, Service Design, Improvement & Analytics

The primary purpose of this role is to build, implement and maintain the Service Design process in Transport and support the promotion of services orientation across the cluster to ensure a holistic, integrated approach is taken to the design of services. The Service Design Specialist will support the promotion of the application of the Service Design process to both business and technology projects, and the design and introduction of new standard service offerings (with an infrastructure and platform focus).

We are looking for a hardworking and proactive individual who has the capability to accept responsibility for new and changed services and has experience in working collaboratively within a team.

Essential requirements 

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
• Relevant IT service management certification.
• Experience performing service management role/s in complex organisations with multi-sourced delivery models, including responsibilities for Service Design, and the application of Service Design processes to projects and the design and introduction of standard services.
• Broad knowledge of infrastructure services and technologies including data centre and compute platforms and products, collaboration and productivity suites, network services (voice, mobile, data), IT service management tools, and service consumption patterns.
• Communication and influencing skills to obtain adoption of Service Design principles where conflicting priorities exist (i.e. the adoption of Service Design in projects focused on timeframes and delivering technology solutions).
• A working knowledge of IT service
