Who we are
We are NSW’s bulk water supplier, river operator and one-stop shop for licensing, water trades and water information. We supply two-thirds of water used in NSW from our 42 dams, rivers and pipelines to regional towns, irrigators, Sydney Water and local water utilities. We also own and operate the largest surface and groundwater monitoring network in the southern hemisphere and build, maintain and operate essential infrastructure.
About the role
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Spatial Application Leader to join our ICT/Systems & Application team. Reporting directly to the Spatial Systems Manager, you will be providing technical advice and expertise to deliver spatial applications that improve business outcomes for WaterNSW.
About you
You will have experience in the use of spatial information systems to inform and influence policy and operational decisions. You will be responsible to have in place systems and processes for the analysis, evaluation, development, testing and implementation of all current and future software applications for WaterNSW Spatial Science Services team. You will also have a passion to remain abreast of technological trends in spatial systems to ensure development, administration and support of spatial science applications meets best practice. As the spatial application leader, you will be ensuring that all activities are undertaken with the safety of people as the number one priority.
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in spatial science, information management or related field.
- Previous experience in a similar role, a natural resource background will be highly regarded.
- Experience interacting with a broad community of stakeholders; ability to manage multiple vendors and contractors.
