Kindergarten Teacher/Director Position

About the role:
At C&K Sunset Community Kindergarten which is located within the town of Mount Isa in Central QLD, a position has become available for an experienced Early Childhood Professional to join the centre as their Permanent Kindergarten Teacher/Director. As the Teacher and Director, you will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of a branch Kindergarten service in accordance with C&K standards and policies as well as developing and implementing a suitable Kindergarten Program for the children following the C&K Building Waterfalls curriculum.
 
C&K Sunset Community Kindergarten are a single unit kindergarten located on the grounds of Sunset State School. The centre offers a 5-day fortnight kindergarten program, with Group A and Group B each group has a maximum of 22 children in each. As the Teacher and Director, you will be working 5 days a week/ The Kindergarten program runs from 8:10am - 2:30pm each week day.
 
Being located on the Sunset State School grounds provides many opportunities to experience school life through a comprehensive Transition Program.  We benefit from visits to the prep rooms and the prep playground, along with inclusion in school events such as NAIDOC celebrations, Under 8's Day and Open Day activities.
 
At C&K Sunset Community Kindergarten we value the uniqueness and individuality of each child and family.  We run an inside/ outside play based program guided by C&K's Building Waterfalls curriculum framework.
 
This position is Permanent Full Time working a 37.5-hour week. You will be required to work 5 days a week In Group A and Group B. Ideally this position will start on the 25th June 2018. Ideal candidates will have:

• Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification)
• Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
• Relevant teaching or directing experience within an Early Childhood environment
• Knowledge of the C&K Building Waterfalls Curriculum desired
• Knowledge of National Quality Framework and Standards ("NQF" and "NQS"), the Early Years Learning Framework ("EYLF")
• Demonstrated ability to develop, plan and implement a high quality educational and child centred program
• A proven ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and make decisions
• Current paid or exemption Blue Card
• Current First Aid/ CPR including Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates
• High level of written and verbal communication skills
• A commitment to continuing professional and personal development
