An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced and positive professional in our Property Rating Services Department. As Coordinator, you will lead the team by managing all aspects of the units’ daily operational requirements, including staff and other resources, driving team innovation and the delivery of high levels of customer service. The Property Rating Service Department is a critical part of Yarra Ranges Council business being responsible for the levying and collection of Council’s primary source of revenue.
Reporting to the Executive Officer Property Rating Services this role offers a wide variety of duties included but not limited to the following:
- Overseeing the integrity of the property, rates, name and address register and valuations systems
- Leading and developing a dynamic team to achieve industry best practice
- Leading the implementation of new systems, processes, improvements and activities that enhance the customer experience
- Interpreting and complying with all the relevant legislation, standards and Council policy as it relates to the role.
You will have proven leadership capabilities, strong financial skills and desirably previous experience in a similar role. You will also possess an enthusiastic approach to your work and have the ability to work without constant supervision.
- Salary from $92,755 per annum (Band 7), plus superannuation
- Permanent Full Time
- Monthly RDO available
What you’ll bring to our team
- Substantial experience in Local Government Property, Rating and Valuations and/or a tertiary qualification in a discipline that will compliment and add value to the position would be viewed favourably
- Previous experience using software applications in the rates and related functions coupled with advanced excel and financial reconciliation skills will be highly regarded
- Exceptional communication skills that will allow you to build relationships with people at all levels
