Our local council client based on the upper north shore of sydney is looking to engage an experienced Bushland Field Officer to join their Bushfire Hazard Reduction team on an ongoing basis.
Your duties will include but not limited to:
- Clearing vegetation on fire breaks at the rear of private properties, councils walking tracks and fire trails
- Bushfire hazard reduction preparation works
- Operating power tools and maintenance tools
- Weed control
- Herbicide spraying
- Tree removal
Ideally you will have:
- Appropriate qualifications relevant to conservation and land management or bushfire management or demonstrated field experience
- Current MR license - minimum clean C class drivers license
- It would be an asset if you possess a Chem Cert (AQF3)
- Chainsaw tickets / qualifications
- Ability to work within a team to meet deadlines
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Most importantly - a great attitude, good work ethic and passion to work with and conserve the environment
