The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director Systems Engineering & Telecommunications in our Operational Systems branch within the Infrastructure and Services Division. This position plays a key role in leading and developing ‘communities of practice’ for systems engineering, systems assurance and telecommunications within Infrastructure and Services(I&S).

The role will drive innovative and consistent systems engineering and assurance methodologies and practices and will also lead and direct telecommunications activities.

  • Drive the alignment of methodology to ensure I&S plans and delivers assets and services in line with established and emergent practices
  • Collaborate with Planning and Program Delivery functions to embed systems engineering input into project development, design, delivery and transition into operations 
  • Manage the development of business requirements, concept of operations and maintenance during project development phases
  • Provide oversight and support throughout the delivery of projects to achieve the defined business outcomes
  • Lead, manage and foster the development of a team of highly skilled professionals with varying experience, backgrounds and capabilities
We are looking for a professional with extensive leadership experience, outstanding collaboration and communication skills with a proven ability to proactively lead and unify teams across a broad variety of transport services.

Infrastructure and Services provides integrated planning, development, delivery of transport assets and operations of transport services that customers value. We transform strategy into seamless transport networks and services, efficiently and effectively.

Operational Systems is responsible for the deployment of consistent operational systems, projects and support across I&S. The branch is responsible for managing the end to end creation of technological and communication networks to support business outcomes.

Essential requirements
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
