We are a large and fully integrated infrastructure business chartered with a responsibility that is pivotal to the success of Queensland and its people. Our culture is one based around safety and performance.

We are looking for 5 ambitious, passionate and professional Graduate Civil Engineers to join our Network business.  Our Graduate Program will provide these Graduates with exposure to key fields of Civil Engineering such as the design, construction, maintenance and inspection of rail infrastructure and supporting structures including bridges, turnouts, tunnels and drainage systems.

Graduates will rotate through a number of job placement rotations, over a two year Graduate program period. These rotations will provide our graduates with practical skills, knowledge and experience to complement their academic studies. 

Joining the Queensland Rail team will provide you with exposure to several high-profile projects including detailed design works, project implementation, maintenance and renewal projects. Our Graduates will have the opportunity to experience these projects first-hand and participate in a diverse graduate program.

The positions offered through this program are permanent roles with Queensland Rail. On completion of the Graduate Program, Graduates will have access to several exciting career pathways within Queensland Rail.  Our Graduate Program will commence in September 2018 and is open to anyone who has obtained a Civil Engineering Bachelor Degree (qualification must be recognised within Australia). You must be able to commence a full-time role from September 2018 and have full working rights to apply for this role.

The successful candidates will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Support business-as-usual activities by conducting research and reporting tasks as directed by nominated Supervisor or Leaders.
  • Contribute to team-based initiatives, tasks and projects to achieve immediate and long term organisation objections.
  • Liaise with colleagues, mangers, customers and stakeholders as required to support the achievement of Network business objectives and tasks.
  • Attend and participate in mentoring and performance processes to continuously develop and improve skills, knowledge and capability.
  • Undertake additional activities as directed by Leaders and Management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering (2018 graduates are invited to apply for these positions but must produce their degree within three months following commencement)
  • High level communications skills – written and verbal
  • High level of conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
