What you'll be doing
Operate as an integral member of Integrated Violence Prevention and Response Service to progress responses to domestic violence & sexual assault within FWLHD, including assist with a range of projects and other innovative initiatives to improve the quality and effectiveness of the response to domestic violence, child protection & sexual assault within health services.
Skills and Knowledge
- Be female and of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent (An applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under S.14(d) of the Antidiscrimination Act 1977, NSW, proof required from a registered Aboriginal Incorporated body is compulsory. Being female is a genuine occupational qualification for this position as described under Section 31 of the Anti- Discrimination Act, 1977 (NSW)).
- Willingness and commitment to undertake and successful complete the Education Centre Against Violence learning pathway; Certificate IV in Aboriginal Family Health (Family Violence, Sexual Assault & Child Protection); Advanced Diploma in Aboriginal Specialist Trauma Counselling and the Graduate Certificate in Human and Community Services (Trauma Stream) over four consecutive years.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities and understanding of the impacts of interpersonal trauma experienced by Aboriginal people.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to work as an Aboriginal Integrated Violence Prevention Response Service Trainee Clinician under supervision, with adults and children whom have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence abuse and neglect.
- Experience participating in and organising community engagement activities, events and education to promote a wider understanding of violence prevention.
- Demonstrated effective communication and negotiation skills, written and verbal computer skills, and understanding of partnership work.
- Evidence of current driver’s licence and ability to travel as part of the role.
