The Role

 

The Director Organisational Development and Capability establishes and leads the organisation learning and development function for Service NSW including developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating diverse strategies, programs and practices that are aligned to Service NSW?s operational and strategic requirements and reflect best practice. This role drives employee engagement, defines the employer brand and employee value proposition developing and managing learning and development, talent identification and management, succession and reward and recognition strategies, to drive a high performing and engaged workforce, improve the quality of business decisions, and realise business value through people outcomes.

 

Key accountabilities

 

? Lead the development and implementation of organisation development activities, ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of Service NSW, operational requirements, and reflecting contemporary best practice.

? Monitor organisational culture indicators to measure employee satisfaction and engagement, identify and assess organisational issues, and evaluate the impact of organisational development programs.

? Lead design and development of the enterprise learning and organisational development strategy and plan that build organisational capability both now and into the future

? Lead the development and delivery of integrated organisational learning and development programs to build the capability of leaders, teams and individuals and support them in working together to achieve business outcomes, ensuring alignment with broader cluster and government policies, and reflecting best practice.

? Design, develop and implement leadership development programmes including specific initiatives such as executive coaching that supports organisational capacity building, individual professional development and reflects best practice

? Develop and implement talent management frameworks, including annual talent review, and succession planning programs and strategies to ensure Service NSW has the required resources to meet its future growth needs

? Promote the People and Culture function within the organisation through developing relationships with the Executive Leadership Team and senior business leaders, and by demonstrating the importance of the people and culture impact on the organisation?s performance.

? Provide leadership, ongoing direction, and expert advice to senior executives to plan and implement human resources reform strategies that support quality improvement, operational change and maximum performance in meeting corporate targets.

? Manage the relationship with outsourced service providers and vendors and provide vendor contract management which tracks compliance with security, service level agreements, quality and cost.

? Provide strategic advice and direction to the Executive Director People and Culture on the full range of people and culture functions, policies and projects.

             

Essential requirements

 

? Proven leadership and management at a senior/executive level in human resource management, organisational development, learning and development, or related functions.

? Extensive experience establishing and implementing people and culture strategies with a focus on organisational development, workforce capability, talent and succession, particularly in a customer service delivery environment.

? Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, or related discipline will be an advantage.

 

Key to your success is your strong track record in delivering innovative strategic engagement outcomes within a large and complex customer service focused environment. You will be an experienced senior executive who is known for your inspiring and engaging leadership style, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to build strategic and sustainable stakeholder relationships at all levels.
