Kelly Services is seeking to engage with experienced Recommendation Officers for one of our government based client in Canberra. The successful candidate will process applications, including data entry and reporting. They will also be responsible for compiling notifications to the institutions and deliver outcome decisions of the Independent Decision Makers to applicants over the phone.

Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate sensitively and effectively with survivors, and or their representative, in telephone and written communications, including communicating decisions.

• Demonstrate empathy and understanding of the impact trauma can have on survivors.

• Compile and draft Recommendation Reports.

• Generate official letters. Process applications, including data entry and reporting.

• Manage relationships and negotiate with survivors, or their representatives, in more complex matters, resolve escalated issues and refer these to appropriate service channels when necessary.

Criteria for Selection:

• Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively in a trauma informed way.

• Strong analytical skills and Attention to detail

• Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills

• Experience in applying emotional intelligence and working with vulnerable people or people who have experienced childhood trauma.

• Experience in working with culturally diverse, vulnerable or complex populations.

• Strong ability to manage Self-care and resilience strategies.
