About the role

This is an opportunity with the Palm Island Community Mental Health Service, experience working in a remote setting with an Indigenous client group. You will provide an advanced standard of mental health nursing interventions to consumers with serious mental health problems and their families in community whilst contributing at a clinical leadership level to effective and efficient service delivery. There is the expectation of collaboration with consumers, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team to provide evidenced based practice and education within a recovery model of care.

  • Remuneration package of up to $133,928 p.a. comprising salary range of $108,804 - $117,037 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7), five weeks recreational leave with loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

About the successful applicant

  • Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and registration with AHPRA
  • Credentialed with the Australian College of Mental Health Nursing (ACMHN) would be highly regarded
  • Appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2000 would be highly regarded
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a 'C' class motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required.

  • Roles that have a direct contact with patients or who in the course of their work may be exposed to blood/body fluids or contaminated sharps are required to be immunised for Hepatitis B.
  • Roles that have contact that would allow acquisition and/or transmission of measles, mumps, rubella, varicella or pertussis, and have face to face contact with patients and/or work in a clinical area require evidence of immunisation of the aforementioned diseases.
