The Project Officer Central Highlands Eden plays a key role in delivering the Central Highlands Eden (CHE) strategic weed management project. You will assist with the planning and delivery of the Central Highlands Eden weed management project in Port Phillip and Gippsland regions to manage weed projects on priority public land within the Government's Biosecurity Framework. Collect and collate spatial information about high value biodiversity assets and high risk weed infestations in the project area and make recommendations for their management. You will develop and maintain strong partnerships and relationships within DELWP and other agencies.
Applicants should have experience in the development and implementation of strategic weed management projects, as well as in their monitoring and evaluation. This position will suit someone with the desire to work in the field, who has an aptitude for weed identification and mapping (ArcGIS). A proactive individual with strong communication skills (both written and verbal) is sought.
This is a fixed term position for a period of 12 months.
