  • VPSG-X range - $82,574 - $93,689 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • 2 (two) fixed term (until 30/06/2019), ongoing positions available
  • Working within the BlueConnect Project, Information Systems and Security Command

 

About the role:
This role of the Change Officer (Communications and Change Advisor) sits at the project-level communications and change management team and reports to the Change Manager (VPSG5).

2 (two) fixed term (until 30/06/2019) positions available.

Some of your duties will include:

Strategy and planning

  • Preparing and developing Communications, Engagement and Change Management plans across Victoria Police and external organisations;
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of change and communication strategies, related plans and templates for specific business and project phases.

Communications and engagement

  • Working with the other project teams to integrate communication activities where possible to decrease impact on stakeholders;
  • Compiling, producing and editing communications content and implement activities required to execute the change and communication plans in line with specific business and project objectives;
  • Developing effective relationships with stakeholders, and support them in preparing for communications and change;
  • Actively engage with stakeholders to ensure that communication strategies are successfully implemented and evaluated.

Change Management

  • Conducting analysis of Change Impact Assessment, and the comparison between ‘as-is' and ‘to-be' states;
  • Performing change readiness and impact assessments to inform change and communications planning;
  • Identifying stakeholders, perform stakeholder analysis and develop communication plans to meet specific stakeholder needs;
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of activities, such as meetings, workshops, focus groups and presentations.

 

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience at a mid-level in planning and managing the development, implementation and delivery of communication and/or change programs within a large, complex environment and to external clients within tight timeframes;
  • Proven experience as a communications professional, with the ability to consult with senior managers and staff at all levels of an organisation;
  • Experience in working in a communications or change team within diverse and dynamic organisational environments;
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to gain cooperation and achieve realistic outcomes;
  • Highly developed analytical, conceptual, written communication and presentation skills including the ability to tailor the message to the needs and interests of the audience in reports, policy papers and written and verbal briefings;
  • Ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction, and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Department.


Requirements and relevant information:

  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.
