Overview

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a suitably qualified Motor Mechanic to join the Mechanical Services Team, based at the Bomaderry Works Depot.

The permanent position runs on two shifts, day and afternoon. The day shift hours are 6.30am to 3.30pm and the afternoon 1.00pm-10.00pm. The successful applicant will be required to go on a roster to work afternoon shifts as well as day shifts and also be required to undertake reasonable work on a callout basis and to go onto an Oncall Roster (after hours & weekends).

Your New Role

Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor, Shane Moss, the focus of this position is to:

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain Council’s comprehensive fleet of light and heavy vehicles, heavy plant, small and fixed plant
  • Provide excellent customer service in the fulfillment of your duties
  • Comply with service level agreements when fulfilling maintenance schedules
  • Negotiate best outcomes for the customer whilst complying with WHS, policy, procedures and legislative requirements
  • Work independently, sometimes off site plus work as a part of a team

About You

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Dual trade certificate or trade certificate plus post trade qualifications in related field or equivalent experience (ie Automotive/Mechanical).
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • MVRIA Licence
  • Current NSW RMS Inspector/Proprietor/Nominee Authorisation (desirable)
  • Experience in heavy plant/truck and light commercial vehicles
