Council’s Early Years Unit is seeking experienced professionals to join our casual pool of relief staff in the following positions.

Early Childhood Educators (Kindergartens)

Remuneration based on EEEA classification

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Certificate III in Children’s Services from an approved training organisation as approved by ACECQA.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and families.
  • Experience in assisting in the development and implementation of an educational program.
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and an understanding of how this impacts on daily practice.
  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication with children, staff and the wider community.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with all staff.
  • Ability to manage risks and identify health and safety issues pertaining to the workplace.
  • A current level II first aid qualification, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Current drivers licence.

Early Childhood Teachers (Kindergartens)

Remuneration based on EEEA classification

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or Equivalent (ACECQA approved).
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and understanding of National Quality Framework and quality improvement processes in a range of children’s services.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate a quality educational program.
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt an innovative, flexible approach to the provision of children’s services.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide positive leadership and contribute towards the development of a productive team culture in a diverse staff team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify health and safety issues pertaining to the work environment.
  • A current level II first aid qualification, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR.
  • A current Registered Early Childhood Teacher card (VIT card).
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Current drivers licence.

Early Childhood Educator – Assistants (Occasional Care Program)

$36.17 per hour (plus 9.5% Superannuation)

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Children’s Services from an approved training organisation.
  • Experience working with families and children.
  • Experience in assisting in the development and implementation of an education and care program.
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and an understanding of how this impacts on daily practice.
  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication with children, staff and the wider community.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with all staff.
  • Ability to identify health and safety issues pertaining to the work environment.
  • A current level II first aid qualification, including Anaphylaxis and CPR.
  • Current Working with Children Check.

Early Childhood Educators – Diploma Trained (Occasional Care Program)

$39.62 per hour (plus 9.5% Superannuation)

Mandatory requirements:

  • Diploma in Children’s Services (must hold a recognised two year childcare qualification under the current Children’s Services Regulations and the DET Funding and Service Agreement).
  • A current level II first aid qualification, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR.
  • Experience in assisting in the development and implementation of an educational program.
  • Demonstrated organisational, planning and prioritising skills to ensure the efficient delivery of outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt an innovative, flexible approach to the provision of children’s services.
  • Ability to manage risks and identify health and safety issues pertaining to the workplace.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
