APRA is seeking an experienced Senior Analyst to join its Life Insurance Strategic Intelligence team within the Data Analytics branch of the Risk and Data Analytics Division. Life Insurance Strategic Intelligence supports APRA’s core functions through the provision of forward-looking analytics and other business intelligence, driving risk-based supervisory judgements and strategic decisions.

As part of the team you will gain a unique perspective of the life insurance industry as you apply your skill and experience to produce industry data. Building on the data, you will provide high-quality industry insights and advice to APRA’s senior executive, life insurance supervisors, risk specialists and other Government agencies.

You will also have the opportunity to lead significant projects that will impact the life insurance industry as you collaborate with a wide range of APRA staff and with industry stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have experience in analysing and communicating life insurance data, grounded in a sound understanding of life insurers and excellent analytical skills. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with excellent organisational, self and priority management skills. Actuarial qualifications would be well-regarded, but are not essential for the role.

Within APRA the Data Analytics team leads the way by providing reporting and forward looking analytics to help drive well-informed supervision and strategic decisions. In order to deliver this the team collects and distributes data both internally within APRA and externally to the other agencies and the industry.
