THE ROLE
We have two Finance Officer positions available within the Finance Team at Bega Valley Shire Council. You will join the Finance Team and undertake a range of finance duties; primarily you will focus on Account Payable while also providing ongoing support to the Payroll and other finance functions. This is a small but busy team with a ‘can do’ approach to their work.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Receive, review and prepare creditor invoices for processing.
- Process claims for reimbursement of petty cash.
- Processing and payment of Council utilities.
- Monthly reconciliation of statements.
- Maintain customer and supplier records.
- Prepare internal and external reports including superannuation payments.
- Maintain and update procedures as required
ABOUT YOU
Do you have accounts payable and payroll experience? We are seeking an individual that is flexible in their approach to work, keen to develop a well-rounded skillset across finance and open sharing new ideas and suggesting improvements to work practices.
- Certificate IV in Finance or working toward
- Customer focussed approach to undertaking your work with a proactive attitude
- Recent experience in a finance environment with practical experience across accounts payable and payroll processes and systems
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to manage competing priorities and projects

We currentlt have a permanent full time and a fixed term contract (9 months)both working 35 hours per week. Remuneration is $1138.60 per week as per the Local Government (State) Award 2017, plus 9.5 % employer superannuation contribution.
