The Regulatory Operations team is a multidisciplinary team, which uses a number of regulatory tools to respond to high risk regulatory matters in accordance with the National VET Regulator’s risk management framework.
About the role
Working as part of a small team, the Regulatory Officer will be required to analyse allocated regulatory matters and under guidance make a determination regarding the appropriate regulatory response under the national framework.
The Regulatory Officer is responsible for carrying out a range of duties including:
- undertaking analysis of allocated regulatory matters and making judgements and recommendations about a providers’ compliance with the Standards;
- making a determination regarding further information requirements and the appropriate regulatory tool to use for the collection of the information or evidence;
- drafting briefs and reports in relation to regulatory matters for the Commissioners;
- contributing to the development of educational products;
- providing advice to stakeholders regarding requirements and obligations under the Standards;
- providing support to other members of the Regulatory Operations team and other internal stakeholders; and
- contributing to business improvement strategies and change in the workplace.
About you
- A knowledge and understanding working within a regulatory environment (desirable)
- The ability to undertake objective, systematic analysis of information and to draw accurate conclusions based on evidence.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Time management, prioritising and meeting deadlines
