Where you'll be working
The Population and Public Health Division coordinates the strategic direction, planning, monitoring and performance of population health services across the state.
The Division is also responsible for health and medical research which play a vital role in the continued growth and better health of our community and economy. From increased life expectancy and new treatments for disease, and technologies that change the way we live and work, to addressing environmental challenges - scientific research and the knowledge it generates affects us all.

What you'll be doing
The Principal Policy Officer supports a strategic and coordinated approach to building mutually beneficial strategic partnerships with an international focus, that deliver better health and economic outcomes. Develop and support the implementation of best practice policies, programs, projects and activities for the Ministry of Health.
 
To be eligible for this position you will need to demonstrate your ability to lead and manage a team ensuring project outcomes and expectations are achieved, engage with a range of stakeholders across government and private sector, provide expert advice on current and emerging international health collaborations and partnerships to Senior Executives and key staff within the Ministry of Health and public health organisations to ensure issues are satisfactorily resolved or addressed.
 
The ability to speak a second language is desirable.
