The City of Salisbury is renowned for its visionary work, leading the way in environmental initiatives, business attraction and community engagement. Our Traffic Management unit provides a safe and equitable transport system for our community’s daily needs.

As the Graduate Traffic Engineer, you will investigate Local Area Traffic Management proposals and undertake studies throughout the City to improve traffic flow. You will investigate issues of road safety and recommend remedial actions as required, as well as initiate and contribute to the design of Traffic Control Devices.  This position is also responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing Temporary Road Closures for community events, road works and other temporary closures under the Road Traffic Act.

Your technical skills and ability will be tested as you conduct audits of Traffic Control Devices and evaluate design solutions yourself. Your advanced interpersonal skills will be highly regarded in this role, as you will conduct public consultation processes associated with major traffic projects.  You will also liaise with local, state and federal government bodies, public utilities, service authorities and developers on all aspects of road safety, civil design, public lighting and traffic management.

Applicants will possess the ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively across all levels of staff within Council.
