What you'll be doing

The incumbent will deliver high quality oral health clinical services to eligible clients. Clinicians at this level are competent and independent, have at least 2 years clinical experience and work under minimal professional supervision, exercising independent professional judgement on routine clinical matters.

Nowra Dental Clinic is a brand new facility & provides the local community with increased access to primary prevention services and oral health education programs. The purpose-built facility includes eight dental surgeries, as well as enhanced diagnostic tools such as panoramic x-ray facilities and new accessibility equipment to enable the treatment of bariatric patients and users of wheelchairs.   The clinic has state-of-the-art electronic clinical record and booking system. This position will involve working at both Ulladulla & Nowra Dental Clinics.  The positions also receives payment of the DORIS (Dental Officers Rural Incentive Scheme) allowance approx: $20,000 pa.
 
Level 2 Dental Officer up to 2nd year approx:  $127,000 pa with an additional DORIS allowance $20,000 pa.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Current registration as a Dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. A minimum of two years post-graduate experience in the practice of dentistry in Australia (or equivalent).
  3. Demonstrated capacity to carry out a full range of professional dental tasks including examination, investigation, treatment planning and treatment of patients and exercising independent professional judgement on routine matters.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of infection management and control principles.
  5. Demonstrated experience/involvement in the development of policies, procedures, standards and practices.
  6. Demonstrated experience in quality improvement activities and willingness to participate in clinical research activities as required.
  7. Current NSW Drivers licence Class C and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve relatively long distances within the Local Health District.
