ABOUT THE ROLEPosition
We are offering a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our Water and Wastewater Section. Reporting to the Supervisor Water and Wastewater you will assist the section operate and maintain Council’s water supply and wastewater treatment plants, including state of the art recycled water plants supplying the first residential dual reticulation scheme in regional New South Wales.
To be successful
You will complete a two year fully funded traineeship undertaking a course equivalent to Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment (in both water and wastewater) with on the job mentoring and support provided by Council’s Treatment Plant Operations Team or you will have partially completed a relevant industry qualification.
To be successful you will bring:
- Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of: creative, accessible, respect and energetic and safe
- Ability to undertake Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or equivalent under a traineeship arrangement.
- Demonstrated interest, capacity and commitment to develop knowledge of water and wastewater treatment operations including adherence to regulatory, health environmental and safety requirements such knowledge under a traineeship arrangement.
- Demonstrated experience in and ability to undertake physical labouring duties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven good communication skills both oral and written.
- Willingness and ability to work on call in accordance with roster requirements.
