This newly created position will report to the Associate Director, Health Safety and Wellbeing. In this role you will act as a partner within the faculties and service divisions, providing support, problem solving, advice and strategies that enable compliance, continuous improvement, and best practices in the field. The role will also contribute to developing progressive and transformational change in health, safety and wellbeing across all functions of the University.

This position will develop and continually improve risk management strategies relating to a diverse portfolio of faculties and support services, engaging at all levels. The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner will be required to apply their skills and expertise to the development, co-ordination and practical implementation of a strategic and integrated approach to employee wellbeing, health, safety and injury prevention.

The position will also afford you the opportunity to lead on key services and develop policies and strategies for delivery across the university.

You will have a track record of providing advice, training and support to enhance health, safety and wellbeing compliance and develop culture across all levels of a large and diverse organisation. You will balance your operational knowledge and familiarity with how technology can enhance implementation and enable reporting and measurement of initiatives, with a desire to engage the University community, providing practical guidance to foster continuous improvement in this area.

You will bring exceptional communication skills to develop and articulate the implementation of health, safety and wellbeing standards and systems, work closely with faculty, service division and leadership teams to effectively roll out and promote health, safety and wellbeing programmes in the workplace, and champion cultural change.

Your proactive, action oriented, mature and professional approach will enhance your ability to influence and build credibility with stakeholders and colleagues who are engaged in a diverse spectrum of activities.

Knowledge of the New Zealand/Australian health and safety environment is advantageous.
