About our team
Corporate Finance Branch has a vision to deliver excellent outcomes for Brisbane through their expertise and performance leadership and by being valued by their stakeholders. We’re committed to play a key role in ensuring financial sustainability by providing high quality financial reporting, advice and services, process governance and recommending improvements to improve financial performance. This role is based within the Financial Analysis and Treasury Management team.
What will I be doing?
You’ll have the opportunity to design, deliver and engage with partners across financial modelling and forecasting activities. You will also undertake financial evaluations and analysis which provide value adding strategic and financial advice and recommendations. To do this, you’ll rely on your experience using software and systems to build reliable advanced financial models. Engaging and partnering with diverse customers across Council will give you the chance to influence and make valued recommendations and offer solutions. Your ability to communicate technical information for your audiences will be valued as well.
What skills do I need?
- Corporate finance experience with expertise in providing financial advice, evaluations and forecasting
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and modelling
- Good communication skills with ability to build and maintain relationships
- A team player attitude, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, business or economics would be highly regarded.
Although this is initially a 6 month opportunity, there is potential for extension pending business needs.
