About the Company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a highly reputable Federal Government Agency to engage multiple Data Scientists. This position is located in their busy Sydney CBD office with an initial 6 month contract with possible extensions.

About the Role
The successful candidate(s) will develop analytical solutions to deliver transformative technical projects which provide significant business value. They will be developing advanced analytical solutions to deliver insights to business for tax risk identification/assessment, taxpayer profiling and decision making. The work involves unstructured data modelling to identify risk themes and topics from vast document collections, text mining, image classification and automation.

Skills and Experience 

• Applies knowledge in mathematics
• Applies knowledge in statistics
• Experience with: SQL, R OR Python, Scala, Java, C/C++, etc.
• Applies technical knowledge and experience in various data science areas
• Applies experience in data and system engineering
• Applies experience in system administration
• Applies technical expertise to support our Big Data Analytics capability
• Experience with Hadoop/Spark, Solr, Tika, Tesseract, Hive, Impala, TensorFlow, D3JS, R Shiny, Superset

Requirements

• Practical Experience –demonstrable practical experience using Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence techniques, and delivery of analytical solutions to business clients.
• Must be eligible for a Baseline Security Clearance (Australian Citizen, No Criminal Record)
