The role

Reporting to the Head of Profit Protection, this role is pivotal to deliver high standards in store security, leading a team of internal and external security and investigation professionals to effectively deliver profit protection goals in the business.

Utilising your network comprising of State and Federal law enforcement and Government agencies, your solid grasp on strategic asset protection coupled with your knowledge of world class security methodologies will see you stand you in good stead.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • an appropriate tertiary qualification in Fraud Prevention / Security Management
  • experience in budget management / deployment
  • solid knowledge in developing loss prevention processes
  • previous experience in leading internal and external investigations with knowledge of legal requirements and formal interviewing processes
  • knowledge of the criminal justice system and associated requirements
  • an understanding of applicable HR guidelines and employee related legislation as it pertains to investigations
  • critical incident and crisis management experience – large scale retailers
  • the ability to influence internal stakeholders and external parties to successfully execute your plans
  • excellent communication skills  to influence and lead cross functional stakeholder groups
  • demonstrated leadership skills 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • develop and deliver the strategic journey that provides loss protection solutions
  • train and coach State Investigation Partners to be experts in investigation, systems and legislation ensuring clear goals on managing criminality and reducing loss 
  • ensure that investigations undertaken by the team are conducted safely and legally in accordance to legislation and company policy
  • manage investment / budgets in Security Services through threat analysis
  • liaise with external bodies to address criminal impacts and act as point of contact for law enforcement agencies
  • develop and maintain relationships with local council / governments regarding local impacts on store team / customers and safe trading
  • support and develop plans for critical incidents that occur nationally that impact safe trading, team and customers
  • create and maintain policy covering asset protection, security systems, crisis and fraud management and investigation processes
