 About the branch

The Regional Victoria Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division's state-wide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.

About the role

The Ranger will plan for and deliver in park services related to engaging the community as directed by the Manager to enable efficient and effective delivery at a district level in accordance with the Regional Action Plan. The Ranger will undertake activities requiring a level of community engagement, environmental, and customer service expertise and the position will be accountable for personal performance. The Ranger will be adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements in order to ensure superior engagement of community in park management services and community programs are achieved at all times This role will actively support and implement Healthy Parks, Healthy People by implementing programs to promote peoples' physical, mental and social health and well-being.

In this role you will be responsible for:

As a Ranger you'll be identifying, developing and implementing opportunities to increase community participation in parks. You'll work alongside many different community groups to promote and implement a range of programs and to further promote parks. You'll also provide a range of different operations services as this position is a dedicated role based at this historic site, which is a seven-day operation. With duties including front of house, administration, tour guiding and stake holder management. You'll be out in our parks undertaking park inspections, recovery works programs, monitoring and reporting on environmental and asset conditions and ensuring that all equipment is maintained and records are up to date. t.

 To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Outdoor Education,
  • Demonstrated experience in implementation of community engagement, natural resource management, outdoor education, volunteering or community health programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant level of knowledge of regulations and compliance procedures
