Salary: Remuneration package of up to $107,262 p.a., comprising salary range of $87,796 - $94,010 p.a. (+ any other applicable allowances/benefits including RANIP) (Nurse Grade 6), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

About the Role

  • To practice autonomously and collaboratively at an advanced level providing continuity of midwifery care to a defined group of women in a defined geographical area throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, focusing on the woman's individual unique needs, expectation and aspirations.
  • Plan, coordinate and integrate evidence-based care into midwifery practice, providing education and support which empowers women and their families, recognising the woman's right to self-determination in terms of choice, control and continuity of carer. Encompassing the needs of the woman, her family significant others and community as identified and negotiated by the woman herself.
  • To provide professional leadership support and mentorship to the Grade 5 Caseload Midwife in the partnership consistent with professional practice model values, facilitating a supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • The successful applicant must hold Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a registered midwife and have possession of a current annual practising certificate. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • A minimum of four years midwifery clinical experience in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care preferred.
  • Competence in perineal suturing and Healthy Hearing screening would be highly regarded.
