About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide quality medical care to patients in the Medical Unit under the supervision and guidance of consultant medical staff. Supervise and advise junior medical staff and students attached to the Department of Medicine. Provide clinical and administrative support for medical services undertaken in clinical units of the hospital.

  • Responsible for the management of patients attending the Medical Unit, under the supervision and guidance of the unit's Duty Consultant, and for ensuring that the consultant is kept informed of any significant changes in the condition of any patient which could result in an adverse outcome.
  • Ensure comprehensive, legible, accurate and concise medical records are maintained for the patients for whom they are responsible.
  • Ensure that each patient in the Medical Unit has an appropriate admission documented which contains a provisional diagnosis and management plan.
