About the Company

General Dynamics Land Systems – Australia (GDLS-A), provides the Australian Defence Force with leading edge military vehicles such as the ASLAV light armoured vehicles and M1A1 Main Battle Tanks.  GDLS-A is part of US based General Dynamics, one of the top five Defence companies in the world.  Their strengths are world-class design and systems integration, superior production and innovative life cycle support.

Role Overview

Reporting through to the Managing Director, the Bid Manager will play an influential role in managing a strong pipeline of significant tender processes for GDLS-A. With the advantage of being able to utilise resources at a global scale, this role will be pivotal in ensuring a successful outcome from bids.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience leading large, complex tenders within the Defence sector is essential
  • Proved experience producing large bids under recent ASDEFCON contracting frameworks is essential
  • Previous experience at mobilising and coordinating dispersed international resources would be an advantage
  • Familiarity and comfortability with the Defence’s Tender Evaluation process
  • A demonstrated successful win rate with previous tenders
  • Solution focused mindset with the ability to work under pressure, delivering high quality responses whilst adhering to tight timelines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • A consistently high level of attention to detail and the ability to plan ahead
  • A collaborative mindset and a professional attitude will be required to obtain the required bid inputs from colleagues across the business 
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required
