You will provide valuable nursing education support within the Emergency Department setting at Flinders Medical Centre. This will include the coordination and leadership of projects, programs and research to achieve improved educational outcomes and service delivery. You will ensure mechanisms are in place to support ongoing education where work and learning are integrated, and contribute to the support of undergraduate and postgraduate students in clinical placements. Collaborating with Nurse/Midwife Unit Managers and Nurse/Midwife Consultants to coordinate teaching and learning processes and achieve planned outcomes, you will contribute to the dissemination of information regarding current developments in nursing and midwifery. Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) is the southern area's largest hospital providing medical services for the southern population of Adelaide and major regional rural centres. The flagship hospital for southern Adelaide, FMC has recently undergone an exciting period of redevelopment, with $185 million invested in new, state-of-the-art health facilities including a 55 bed rehabilitation centre, a 15 bed palliative care facility, and a 30 bed older person’s mental health unit.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated experience and skills in nursing/midwifery education or staff development, you will bring the ability to apply relevant education theory to nursing/midwifery education and practice. A confident communicator, you will be skilled in preparing and undertaking presentations of a high standard in a range of educational settings to both community and professional groups.
