The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a One Biosecurity Client Service Officer to be part of our Biosecurity SA Division within PIRSA. The role reports to Manager Disease Surveillance.

The One Biosecurity Internet Service (1BIS) is an innovative, new online animal disease management system with a focus on farm biosecurity and endemic diseases as indicators of biosecurity practices. The 1BIS is a completely new way for government to engage with livestock producers and will provide state-wide benefit to the livestock industry through enhanced opportunities for domestic and international marketing, and provide PIRSA with data and information that will be used in government to government negotiations on South Australia's animal health status.

The One Biosecurity Client Service Officer is part of the Animal Health Branch and is responsible for providing client support and relationship management for the One Biosecurity Internet Service. The role is responsible for taking the 1BIS from project to full-fledged program including the development, implementation and monitoring of relevant policies and procedures, end-to-end management of issues, engagement and liaison with key stakeholders and development of analytics. The program will be Biosecurity SA's main link with livestock producers and, as such, the role is critical to manage PIRSA's presence and relationship with producers in the regions.

The incumbent will be part of a multi-disciplinary team implementing the One Biosecurity Program including veterinarians, animal health officers, livestock producers, ICT and other vendors, and provide expert advice on implementation and administration of public-facing systems. The role includes establishment and management of customer facing support services through to identifying and scoping opportunities to improve system functionality and performance. The One Biosecurity Client Service Officer will promote the adoption and use of the system both within the agency and in the livestock industry, including through training of producers and staff on the features and operation of the system.

The role requires strong skills in relationship management, problem identification definition, analysis and assessment, planning and execution of fit-for-purpose solutions, consistent attention to detail, strong organizational and administrative skills; and the ability to perform under pressure. The incumbent will have a strong relationship management focus, experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds and skills sets, knowledge of databases, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
