About the role

The Insurance Business Unit of WorkSafe Victoria works to ensure claims are managed effectively and injured workers returned to safe and sustainable work.

Reporting to the Manager, Return to Work, this role works closely with external stakeholders including Agents and Occupational Rehabilitation Providers (ORPs) to ensure that key RTW functions are appropriately and efficiently managed across the scheme.  This is entail leading the development and implementation of a variety of project initiatives that arise due to business needs and emerging issues.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Developing and maintaining effective partnership arrangements with internal and external stakeholders (including Agents, ORP’s and other stakeholders) in order to contribute to better RTW outcomes for injured Victorians
  • Coordinate and conduct file reviews, health checks, audits and provide formal reports and feedback. Participate in relevant Insurance Business Unit and Divisional Governance committees to present on relevant topics
  • To identify opportunities and provide additional support or engagement with Agents and ORP’s to improve their RTW performance within the Early RTW Intervention context and more broadly
  • Work with relevant internal business partners to obtain available data required to prepare Agent and OR provider communications. Data for this analysis may include technical information provided by others, or seeking new sources of data to interrogate
  • Using the results of research and analysis or review, and your knowledge of the organisation, develop recommendations utilising the most appropriate regulatory levers and tools, to achieve the outcomes required to support delivery of the project

Skills & experience

  • Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of Occupational Rehabilitation servicing or agent experience in managing Occupational Rehabilitation Services
  • The ability to design, develop and implement multi-faceted programs / systems/procedures
  • Experience in the preparation of project plans, agendas, minutes, reports and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise in a professional manner with a diverse stakeholder group including senior management, employer groups, unions and internal stakeholders
  • Strong experience in conducting presentations, facilitating discussion groups and/or training sessions
  • Previous experience working in an Workers Compensation environment
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications, ideally in Allied Health
