Permanent Part-Time 0.6FTE

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and qualified IT and Communications Support Officer to join Council’s Governance and Communications Department and assist with the implementation of Council’s IT and communications functions that support and facilitate Council operations

Reporting directly to the IT and Communications Officer, this position will play a key role in:

  • Providing frontline contact for technical maintenance and customer support for the information technology and communications resources across Council;
  • Design and preparation of Council’s key documents;
  • Assisting with operational tasks that include installation, configuration and maintenance of computers and network equipment along with the management of operating systems and applications within Council; and
  • Ongoing development and implementation of Council’s communication platforms.

To be successful in this role, the applicant will need:

  • Knowledge of information technologies, with an understanding of working in the Cloud and managing remote sites;
  • An understanding of design and media products that support marketing and communication in a Local Government environment;
  • Excellent organisational, time management, teamwork, record keeping and interpersonal communication skills
